We are currently seeking an individual that has proven experience in leading the activities of a Preconstruction Department (Estimating), for a General Contracting firm. This individual must be excited to work directly in our Suburban Toledo Corporate Headquarters, which will require living in the greater Toledo area. Industry experience such as Senior Living/Assisted Living and Multi-family construction is highly regarded.
 
Position Synopsis

 This position is responsible for leading and managing the Estimating, Business Development, and Civil Design functions and personnel. This includes procuring projects primarily from new clients in a quality, cost conscious, timely, and client friendly manner. The overall goal is to ensure the growth of our Estimating, Business Development, and Preconstruction Services to provide company and client services growth.
 
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Manage Estimating Department
  • Manage Business Development activities to meet organizational needs
  • Present estimates to clients
  • Participate in Business Development meetings and presentations
  • Development of assigned staff
  • Subcontractor relationships
  • Strengthen client relationships during preconstruction phase
  • Effective and timely project turnover to Construction Operations Team
  • Ensure on-time start for all negotiated projects
  • Departmental budget control
  • Assist in developing and achieving yearly strategic goals
 
 
 
 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required (Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management preferred)
  • Proven successful experience managing an Estimating Department
  • Proven successful experience leading Business Development activities
  • Proven successful track record of leading client relationship development activities
  • Experience working through the negotiated bid process
  • 15+ years of solid estimating experience (Estimator to Sr. Estimator to Chief Estimator progression preferred)
